The anniversary celebrations will take place on 28–29 May 2026 in Wrocław.
On 28 May, an anniversary meeting entitled „Wrocław Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology: Eight Decades of History“ will be held at the Oratorium Marianum of the University of Wrocław. The program includes presentations devoted to the history and present-day activities of the Institute, as well as the presentation of an anniversary volume, an exhibition, and a textile project prepared for the occasion.
On 29 May, an academic symposium entitled „Ethnicity – Memory – Transformation: Eighty Years of Wroclaw Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology“ will focus on three key areas of contemporary anthropological research: transformation, ethnicity and nationalism, and the politics of memory.
