CU FA and the Czech startup Moovez have developed a groundbreaking new method of language teaching inspired by children

13. 1. 2026 Faculty

The research team headed by dr. Kateřina Chládková from the Institute of Czech Language and Theory of Communication at CU FA, in close cooperation with Ing. Miroslav Pešta, head of the Moovez team, have developed a unique method of natural language teaching, which they are now implementing into the mobile app of the Moovez educational startup.

The lecture will take place on Wednesday, January 14, at 11:00 a.m. in Room 104 of the main building of the Faculty of Arts, Charles University, Náměstí Jana Palacha 2, Prague.

Agreement with the German Historical Institute in Warsaw launches cooperation in research into the history of Central and Eastern Europe

The conference Engaging with Conspiracy Theories, Fostering Democracy: Dynamics, Drivers and Defenses will be held at the Faculty of Arts, Charles University in Prague on April 9 and 10, 2026.

Two fire evacuation drills to take place at the CU Faculty of Arts

19. 11. 2025 Faculty

The first drill takes place on Wednesday, 26. 11. 2025, at the Sweerts-Sporck Palace, starting at 10:00 AM. The second drill will take place a week later, on Wednesday, 3. 12. 2025, also starting at 10:00 AM, in the main CU FA building at Jan Palach Square.

7. 11. 2025 Faculty

Humanities Week will take place from Monday, 17. 11., until Friday, 21. 11. 2025, and will offer a rich programme full of lectures, workshops, exhibitions, and other interesting events. The main program at CU FA will take place in the main building at náměstí Jana Palacha 1/2 and is suitable for the general public, high school students and their teachers, as well as academics.

Onboarding Course for International Students

Charles University is pleased to offer an online onboarding course designed to support newly admitted international students in their transition to university life. Sessions are held every Wednesday online and are open to both full-degree and Erasmus students.

Historian Timothy Garton Ash to receive an honorary doctorate degree based on the proposal by CU FA

8. 10. 2025 Faculty

The honorary doctorate will recognize not only more than thirty years of academic and journalistic work of Professor Garton Ash, but also his social attitudes, which are an inspiring and important voice for Central and Eastern Europe’s future direction, especially in the difficult period the regions are going through.
